Register for 4th Annual Beacon-Holio Cornhole Tourney on Oct. 14

UPDATE: Thanks for your support!

For the fourth year in a row, Beacon Hose is bringing back the Beacon-Holio Cornhole Tournament! This year, we’re expanding the event by separating into “pro” and “amateur” divisions. More on that below.

The tournament is set for Sunday, Oct. 14 at Beacon Hose. (Registration and shootaround will begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by an all-you-can-eat BBQ lunch) It’ll be an all-afternoon affair (RAIN OR SHINE!) with big cash prizes on the line. The nuts and bolts of the tournament are below; click here for the rules, which will be the same as those used by the American Cornhole Organization.

  • ENTRY FEE: $100 entry fee per team (two players per team; pay the day of the event). The tournament is open to all.
  • DIVISIONS: We’re experimenting with a new format that will split the elimination tournament into “pro” and “amateur” divisions based on the quality and competitiveness of teams. We’ll ask teams to register with their preference of division, and we will assign teams to either the “pro” or “amateur” elimination tournament after pool play concludes.
  • PRIZES: The prize pool will be determined by the number of teams in the tournament — the prizes in the pro division will be substantially higher than those in the amateur division. Last year, we awarded more than $1,500 in cash to the top three finishers.
  • LUNCH AND DRINKS: A barbecue lunch (pulled pork, pulled chicken, mac and cheese, and cornbread) will be included for players; spectators can purchase lunch tickets for $15 each. Beers (for those 21 and older) will be available for $2 each
  • COURTS: Six courts will be set up inside of our firehouse, so the event is rain or shine. Games are constantly being added to open courts once other games finish, so there’s no lull in the action and no long waits for teams to play.
  • FORMAT: Teams will play several round-robin games as determined by the tournament director, and teams will be seeded for the elimination tournaments by records in pool play and skill level. All teams will advance to the elimination tournaments, which will be single-elimination series (best-of-three).
  • FOOTBALL: Don’t want to miss any NFL action? Don’t worry; we’ll have the games on TV.
