Beacon Hose is excited to finally have an online store to help our supporters show their pride for our department. Here are a few answers to questions about our new shop. (If you have any other questions about our store or about your own order, contact us at webmaster@beaconhose.com.)

What are you guys selling?

We have an assortment of T-shirts, hats, glassware and accessories. We purchased many of these items for our merchandise tent at the 2016 carnival, and we’ve got plenty left over. Check out our entire inventory here.

Where does the money from purchases go?

While the town funds our emergency response activities and equipment, we put merchandise proceeds toward the many causes we support throughout the year. They include sponsorship of local youth sports teams, fire prevention programs, educational scholarships, holiday functions, other community activities, assistance for local less-fortunate families and more.

Where can I get a Beacon Hose patch?

We’re just about out of our stock of Beacon Hose patches right now. We’re going to be ordering more in the near future, and as soon as we do, we’ll add them to our store.

 

How can I get my purchase?

We offer three options, depending on your location.

  • Local pickup: Wherever you are, we can make your purchase available for pickup at our firehouse (35 North Main Street, Beacon Falls). An email after your purchase will let you know when your items are available and the hours you can pick them up.
  • Local delivery: For those living locally, we offer delivery at a reduced flat rate. The delivery fee is $4 and is available in select towns (including Beacon Falls, Bethany, Naugatuck, Seymour, Oxford, Ansonia, Derby, Waterbury, Prospect, Cheshire, Middlebury, Southbury, Woodbury, Watertown andThomaston). If your area is eligible for local delivery, it will be displayed as an option after you enter your zip code at checkout. An email after your purchase will confirm a delivery time.
  • Flat-rate shipping: For those living anywhere outside our local area but inside the United States, we offer two flat rates for shipping. Most packages will cost $7.00 to ship, but any packages involving glassware will cost $14.00 to ship. Packages will be shipped via the United States Postal Service. An email after your purchase will confirm a delivery time.

How can I pay?

We accept three forms of payment. If you’re ordering for delivery or shipping, we require a PayPal payment online. Credit cards and debit cards are accepted. If you’re ordering for pickup at the firehouse, you can either use PayPal online or you can pay in cash or check upon arrival. Checks can be made out to “Beacon Hose Co. No. 1.”

What about refunds or returns?

We’ll be very flexible with you. If you change your mind on a purchase, we shouldn’t have a problem issuing a refund. We’ll inspect all the products before we have them ready for pickup or delivery, but if there’s something wrong when it arrives, we can work to make it right. When can I expect new items in the store?

Whoa, chill, we just opened! We hope to add new items from time to time. You can expect a new carnival T-shirt for sale each year, at least. If you have any ideas for other Beacon Hose merchandise, let us know!
