As the COVID-19 pandemic gets a bit more serious entering the holiday season, we at Beacon Hose wanted to pass along a few updates and reassurances about what’s going on here and what our community can expect.
CALLING 911: If you experience an emergency and need to call 911, dispatchers will ask you extra questions to determine whether there is a possibility of COVID-19 exposure to responding crews. Please be honest in answering questions to protect our crews.
EMS RESPONSES: For any calls that dispatchers determine to have a possible COVID-19 exposure (or a cardiac arrest call), our responding crews will don all protective equipment, including N95 masks, gowns, eye protection, and gloves. For other calls, responders will have KN95 masks and gloves. Our crews will ask all patients and bystanders at the scene to wear masks (we can provide them) or practice social distancing.

UPDATE: The orders have now closed. Thank you for your support!
Many of y’all asked us to keep our tradition of carnival T-shirts going … so here goes! We had a little bit of fun with these, as usual, and any of you Friends fans out there might take a special liking to these.
All orders must be made through our online store, and the store will close at the end of the day on Sept. 11 — we will only open this store one time, so spread the word to anyone you think might be interested! You may choose to have the shirt delivered to your home, or you may choose to pick up at the firehouse during our drive-thru dinner on Sept. 26.
To order, click the link below and enter the store code HP6SY to access the T-shirt order, which is available in youth and adult sizes. Thanks as always for your support!
UPDATE (8/20/2020): Unfortunately, due to the continuing circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 carnival has been canceled. We hope to bring back the event in 2021! Thanks for your support. The original post is below.
We regret to announce that the 2020 Beacon Hose Carnival, which was scheduled for June 11-13, is being indefinitely postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
A number of factors went into our decision, but the top consideration was the health and safety of our community and our members. Nobody looks forward to life returning to some sense of normalcy more than us, but based on the latest guidance, our society will not yet be in a position in mid-June during which we can encourage large gatherings.
We hope to be able to reschedule the event for sometime later in the year, but only if conditions permit us to do so safely — a decision that will be made in conjunction with public health and elected officials. Be sure to follow us on social media to keep up with the latest updates.
