Mother’s Day Breakfast, Duck Race Kick Off May

Mother’s Day weekend will be an exciting one at Beacon Hose as two big events are planned at the firehouse.

The 17th annual Lions Club of Beacon Falls Duck Race (and the eighth annual Naugatuck Valley River Race) will be held Saturday, May 9, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. on the grounds of Beacon Hose and Volunteer Park.

Beacon Hose Announces Carnival Entertainment Schedule

Beacon Hose is thrilled to announce the entertainment lineup for our annual firemen’s carnival, which will be held June 11-13 at the firehouse.

On Thursday night, it’s an all-Beacon Hose night of entertainment featuring our own Kyle Brennan as the DJ and our own Jeff Kean running his popular trivia contest. Trivia will start at 8 p.m. and the winning team will receive half the overall pot. See if you can your team can earn the official title of the Smartest Folks in Beacon Falls!

Beacon Hose Meat-O is Back in Time for Easter!

The craze that is Beacon Hose’s Meat-O is coming back for Easter!

Beacon Hose will host an Easter Meat-O night Saturday, March 28, at 7 p.m. at the firehouse. A $5 admission fee includes a buffet dinner and one drink ticket. The whole point of the event is to pay into games of chance to win something special for your Easter table — including kielbasas, pierogis, shrimp, babka, hams, turkeys and more.

Beacon Hose, New Harvest to Host Tip-a-Firefighter Dinner

Beacon Hose will team up with our good friends at the New Harvest Restaurant for a fundraiser Tip-a-Firefighter Dinner on Thursday, March 5, beginning at 5 p.m.

Meal choices include lamb shank, New York strip steak and chicken parm with pasta. Each meal also includes hot and cold non-alcoholic beverages, salad, bread and dessert.

The dinner costs $30 per person, and a $6 children’s meal is also available.

Beacon Hose’s Top Five Pictures of 2014

Beacon Hose celebrated the end of 2014 by choosing our top five photos of the year. Here are the five we selected, in chronological order, as posted on our Facebook page.

First up is what we like to call “A (Migs) Smiley For A (Fried Dough) Smiley.” Beacon Hose 2nd Lt. John Mis was behind the fried dough station at this year’s carnival and cooked up a little something special for a lucky carnival-goer!
