Beacon Hose Co. No. 1 is always looking for more members interested in joining our fire, EMS, and fire police units, as well as social members who contribute to department causes and special events. Prospective members must be willing to meet various standards and requirements, including attendance at meetings, trainings, calls, and events, as well as a background check and physical examination.
We accept applicants from Beacon Falls, Naugatuck, Bethany, Seymour, and Oxford. Any applicant who resides outside of Beacon Falls previously must have applied for membership in the volunteer department located in the applicant’s town of residence, or otherwise provide written justification regarding the reasons why the applicant did not seek such membership. Junior corps membership is also available for high school students aged 14-17.

All membership applications are reviewed by the department’s Membership Committee, and applicants will be subject to an orientation meeting, a background check, and a physical exam. Members accepted into the department will enter a one-year probationary period in which they meet specific requirements before becoming full members.
