BHC Christmas: Believe Merch, Tree Sale, Parade and Movie, Santa Drive-Thru, Popcorn Ball Sunday, and More

UPDATE: Thanks for your support. Happy holidays!

Beacon Hose’s favorite season is chock full of events in 2022. Here’s what’s on tap!

CHRISTMAS TREE SALE

Our longtime tradition of the Christmas tree sale will return to our parking lot on weekends after Thanksgiving. We’ll open up Black Friday, and then we’ll be here Saturdays and Sundays thereafter until we’re sold out. We are open from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. during the sale.

Trees cost $70. We also have wreaths (12 inches for $20, 20 inches for $35), and ornaments ($10). As always, we offer custom tree trimming and free delivery to Beacon Falls residents. Cash, checks, and cards are accepted.

CHRISTMAS LIGHTINGS, PARADE, AND MOVIE

Mark your calendar for Saturday, Dec. 10 (moved from its original date of Dec. 3) — it’s the town’s annual Christmas lightings, light parade, and movie at the firehouse!

The parade will step off from Laurel Ledge at 6 p.m., looping around the Hill section before making our first stop at Beacon Falls Town Hall. They will continue to St. Michael’s Church and the Beacon Falls Congregational Church before coming down Church Street to the firehouse.

Coming along to each stop will be a Christmas parade of decorated firetrucks, trailers, and other vehicles. It’ll all end at the firehouse, where we’ll have refreshments and a showing of a Christmas movie on a jumbo projector screen starting by 7 p.m.! (P.S. Santa might visit, too.)

The parade route is below. The lineup for participating vehicles will be in the Laurel Ledge parking lots. The best viewing areas for the parade will be along North Main Street north of the Route 8 ramps and the St. Michael’s Church Green, along with the sides of the road along the route.

Individuals, groups, businesses, or fire/EMS departments who would like to enter a vehicle/trailer into our parade should fill out the following form by Dec. 8. We will get in touch with more details after you RSVP. Trophies will also be awarded in six categories, including Most Lights; Best Holiday Theme; Most Creative Entry; Best Beacon Falls Entry; Best Fire/EMS Entry; and Ho-Ho-Host’s Choice.

SANTA DRIVE-THRU AT BEACON HOSE

We love making sure our Beacon Falls youngsters get a chance to meet Santa Claus before Christmas — and hopefully receive a gift from the big man, too!

Santa will visit Beacon Hose on Sunday, Dec. 11 between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Families will be invited to drive around the firehouse, check in from the car, and drive into the firehouse where Santa will be awaiting with the gift(s)! You’ll be able to get out and have a quick meeting with the big man.

Parents who would like to drop off a gift for Santa to give to their child are welcome to do that. Please make sure the gift is wrapped and labeled with your child’s name, and we’ll take care of the rest.

There is no fee to come visit Santa, but we will accept donations to benefit Operation Believe and the less fortunate families we sponsor during the holidays. Please send us an email — believe@beaconhose.com — if you want to sign up!

POPCORN BALL SUNDAY

Popcorn Ball Sunday is back again! Santa Claus will leave the firehouse at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 18, and hit almost every road in Beacon Falls over the next two hours or so.

Make sure you listen for the sirens when Santa is close to your neighborhood, and Santa will be on top of a firetruck to toss popcorn balls out to all the kids he sees! Click here to see the route. (It’ll be hard for us to give exact estimates of when each truck will be in each neighborhood, but it will be between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.)

FARMER’S MARKET CHRISTMAS BAZAAR

The Beacon Falls Farmer’s Market’s annual Christmas bazaar is set for Sunday, Dec. 4 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the firehouse. Vendors interested in participating can contact Jeremy Rodorigo at 203-725-4795.

Also on Dec. 4, the Beacon Falls Lions Club will host its annual stuff-a-truck food drive. They will accept nonperishable food items and household supplies, as well as cash and gift-card donations.

Note: We unfortunately had to cancel our scavenger hunt that was scheduled for Nov. 26 due to low number of sign-ups. We hope to bring it back in 2023.

OPERATION BELIEVE

Beacon Hose’s Victor Santos launched Operation Believe in 2020 to a wonderful reception in our community. Operation Believe is back this Christmas season!

Operation Believe flags and signs are available for purchase — click here to order online now! They’ll also be available at our Christmas tree sale.

The crew is also planning a visit to Laurel Ledge Elementary School — more details to come! Contact us — believe@beaconhose.com — if you have any questions or need more information.
