Help Beacon Hose with our Adopt-a-Hydrant Contest

We need to clear fire hydrants around town after the snowstorm last week, so we’re bringing back our Adopt-a-Hydrant contest here in Beacon Falls.

If you have a fire hydrant near your property, we need you to help us out by clearing away the snow and ice (3 feet on all sides, down to the ground, including a path to the road). This could make all the difference in us being able to save life and property in case of a fire in your neighborhood. If you can do that for us, here’s how to enter the contest:

1) Clear the hydrant to our specifications (shown in the graphic below and described above). Please exercise the utmost caution while near the roadside. If the hydrant nearest to you is in a place that makes it dangerous for you to clear it out, please contact us so we can add it to our list.

2) Take a picture of your cleared hydrant and email it to chief@beaconhose.com or send it to us on Facebook. Include your name, address and phone number.

Simple as that. And don’t wait! The deadline is Monday, Feb. 13, at 6 p.m.. We will hold a random drawing that evening, and 10 people who send us a picture of their cleared hydrant will win a gift certificate to the Beacon Falls Pizza Palace.
