Bring Santa Home, Tree Lighting & Bonfire, and Lights Contest

Update: Thanks for your support! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Beacon Hose’s favorite season is chock full of events in 2017, including the annual tree lighting and bonfire, Bring Santa Home and a Christmas lights contest!

TREE LIGHTING AND BONFIRE

Dec. 2 is the annual Beacon Falls Christmas tree lightning and bonfire. The festivities will begin at 6 p.m. at Beacon Falls Town Hall and continue to St. Michael’s Church and the Beacon Falls Congregational Church. We’ll finish at the Lewis House, where we’ll light a bonfire and have free refreshments and entertainment for all. A hayride will also be making its rounds through the neighborhood. Hopefully you can come ring in the season with us!

BRING SANTA HOME

One of Beacon Hose’s most rewarding events is coming back again on Saturday, Dec. 9 — yep, it’s our Bring Santa Home campaign!

Those interested in having Santa Claus visit your home in a firetruck should email us at bringsantahome@beaconhose.com or give one of our co-chairs a call or text — Taylor Docimo at (203) 490-5987 or Jackie Fitzpatrick at (203) 560-0090 — to set it up. They’ll give you all the secret details, including the timeline of the morning’s visits and the previous evening’s gift drop-offs. We’d like you to make the arrangements ASAP, but the deadline is Dec. 8. We ask for a donation of $20 per visit to help support our Christmastime programs.

CHRISTMAS LIGHTS CONTEST

Our Christmas decorating contest is making a comeback this year! Show off your festivity and Christmas lights decorating skills and compete against other Beacon Falls residents to win prizes!

If you’re interested in entering the contest, fill out the brief form below. There is no entry fee, and the entry deadline is Thursday, Dec. 14. Decorations will be judged the weekend of Dec. 16-17 (6-9 p.m.), and winners will be announced Dec. 18. Prizes will be awarded for the top three, as determined by our veteran judging panel.

Only exterior lighting and decorations will be judged from outside of the home. Judging will be based on “curb appeal” from the street. Judging will be based on four categories: creativity, proportion/scale, Christmas spirit, and overall appearance (each on a scale of 10 points).

Good luck!

Remember, too, our Christmas sale runs each weekend leading up to Christmas until our supplies run out.
