Beacon Hose’s Top Five Pictures of 2014

Beacon Hose celebrated the end of 2014 by choosing our top five photos of the year. Here are the five we selected, in chronological order, as posted on our Facebook page.

First up is what we like to call “A (Migs) Smiley For A (Fried Dough) Smiley.” Beacon Hose 2nd Lt. John Mis was behind the fried dough station at this year’s carnival and cooked up a little something special for a lucky carnival-goer!

Our five line officers — Chief Jim Trzaski, Asst. Chief Brian DeGeorge, Capt. Howie Leeper, 1st Lt. Paul DeGeorge and 2nd Lt. John Mis — led Beacon Hose’s procession at the parade, but they also had a little bit of help. Brian’s daughter, Emma, matched her dad step for step!

We like to make our open house a hands-on experience, so we helped some of the youngsters open up some hoses and blast out some water. By the looks of it, they had an awfully fun time — and so did we!

Thomas the Bull was the star of our first cow chip raffle in November — he even helped sell some tickets before the event! Between the great support for the raffle and the overwhelming crowd for our country-style breakfast, Beacon Falls helped us start to close our year with some terrific fundraising efforts. Thanks again!

This year, we visited dozens of families throughout Beacon Falls and hopefully made for some memorable moments to kick off the Christmas season with our Bring Santa Home event. Our own Bill McCasland donned Santa’s suit and visited the Carroll family for baby Logan’s first Christmas!
