Beacon Hose’s 10 Favorite Photos of 2015

It was another terrific year at Beacon Hose.

We enjoyed one of our best fundraising years in recent memory, spurred by a superb turnout at our annual carnival and a memorable weekend hosting the CSFA Convention and Parade, as well as countless events that were made possible by the support of our neighbors.

We pored over all the photos we posted in 2015 and selected our 10 favorites to share with you one more time. From the carnival to the convention, and from fires to football games, we’ve got a little sampling of everything that made this year great.

Beacon Hose Responds to Dryer Fire

Beacon Hose was dispatched Monday, Dec. 21, at 12:09 p.m. to a home on Cook Lane for the report of a dryer fire.

Upon arrival, Chief Jim Trzaski noticed smoke showing from the rear porch. Upon investigation, fire was found in the first-floor laundry room. The response was upgraded to a working structure fire.

Mutual aid from Naugatuck Fire Department’s Ladder 1 and Citizens’ Engine Co. No. 2’s Engine 11 were also dispatched to the scene. Beacon Hose’s Engine 3 was the first apparatus on scene with a four-man crew.

Beacon Hose’s Annual Christmas Tree Sale Spans Four Weekends

The annual tradition that is Beacon Hose helping our neighbors celebrate Christmas is returning once again to the firehouse with the start of our Christmas tree sales!

The sale will begin the weekend after Thanksgiving (Nov. 28-29) and continue every Saturday and Sunday until Christmas (or until we sell out of trees, which we did on our fifth day of sales last year). We’ll be at the firehouse each day of the sale from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

The fresh-cut trees cost $45 each, and free delivery is available to all Beacon Falls residents. Those who would like to buy a Christmas tree without leaving their own home can also call the firehouse at (203) 729-1470 during any of the sale hours.

Bring Santa Home, Christmas Tree Lighting Both Dec. 12

One of Beacon Hose’s most rewarding events is coming back again on Saturday, Dec. 12 — yep, it’s our Bring Santa Home campaign!

Those interested in having Santa Claus visit your home in a firetruck should email us at bringsantahome@beaconhose.com or give one of our co-chairs a call — Jackie Fitzpatrick at (203) 560-0090 or Taylor Docimo at (203) 490-5987 — to set it up. They’ll give you all the secret details. We’d like you to make the arrangements ASAP, but the deadline is Dec. 11.
