For the fourth year in a row, Beacon Hose is bringing back the Beacon-Holio Cornhole Tournament! This year, we’re expanding the event by separating into “pro” and “amateur” divisions. More on that below.

The tournament is set for Sunday, Oct. 14 at Beacon Hose. Beacon Hose Truck 6 Christened at Wetdown

Beacon Hose christened Truck 6 — the department’s new, 2017 Pierce Ascendant quint with a 107-foot ladder — at a wetdown ceremony June 24.

Our friends from the Middlebury Volunteer Fire Dept. and Oxford Center Co. No. 1 joined us for the traditional wetting down of the truck. Chief Brian DeGeorge and engineer Paul Brennan also sprayed the apparatus with champagne, and department chaplain Fr. Mathai Vellappallil delivered a wonderful blessing for the truck. The truck is now in service and continues to be populated with new equipment.

Truck 6 T-shirts will be on sale until July 23. Shirts are navy blue with our department’s logo on the chest and artwork featuring Truck 6 on the back. Men’s sizes small-XL ($20.95) and 2XL-5XL ($25.95) are available online. Any shirt sizes on backorder will be filled when the order closes and should be available by the beginning of August.
